I've installed msodbcsql17 both the Ubuntu and the Windows (x86) version and it doesn't fix this error, however I found a russian site here samag.ru/archive/article/1926 which hinted that MDAC 2.8 (SP1?) had to be installed and since I installed this MDAC this error got fixed yet another error type appears, I can't read russian so I don't know what else I'm missing appearntly I need to setup the FreeTDS Driver/Library thing too but I don't know if a different configuration is needed and I don't know of any sites that is not bing/google owned that has a somewhat good russian to english translation for any more hints. For the mdac I downloaded it from this site microsoft-data-access-components.software.informer.com/2.8/ which is installed via Winetricks, the downloaded file has to be placed under /home/USER/.cache/winetricks/mdac28 as MDAC_TYP.EXE (case sensitive) Winetricks does a sha256sum check so it is the correct file.

The SQL Drivers that I have is these:
I just checked the Wiki page again and it seems this time I cannot get SQL Server 2017 Express edition to install after I have installed mspatcha and dotnet 4.0 via winetricks, apparently it is not compatible in 32bit environment? Since the DBServer seems to partially work now, I could try doing all the steps again in a 64bit prefix to see if it works better.
